Pacific Rim National Park

This world-class park spans a total area of 49,962 hectares of land and ocean in three separate geographic units - Long Beach , the Broken Group Islands and the West Coast Trail .

Pacific Rim National Park is truly a national treasure.  Towering millennium old trees covered in ferns, mosses and lichens make this a must see destination.  Just driving to Tofino and Chesterman House you pass right through it.

Perhaps a highlight of Pacific Rim National Park is stunning Long Beach. A 15 minute drive from Chesterman House, Long Beach is a sand-lovers dream.  Miles and miles of flat, smooth sand being pounded by the constant succession of waves born far in the west that end their lives on these shores. 

Long Beach caters to travelers seeking to relax on the beach, picnic, or hike in the truly stunning old growth forests.

In the summer you can play in the waves and make sand castles.  In the winter, beach comb after wild storms or try surfing the sizable waves!
