Tofino, British Columbia

Tofino is an eclectic, funky and fun town to spend an afternoon in and is the gateway to outdoor adventure, West coast Canada style.  Here, you can plan a fishing, surfing, whale watching, bear watching or kayaking adventure.

The town can easily be covered on foot and features ocean view boutiques, outdoor adventure tour companies, B&Bs, resorts quaint cafés serving delicious baked goods and lattes.

Tofino is situated on the narrow Esowista Peninsula off the west coast of Vancouver Island , Canada . It is bounded by the Clayoquot Sound UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) Biosphere Reserve. The Biosphere Reserve is an internationally recognized area that will now preserve this national treasure for millennia.

 

If you like the beach, Tofino has four waiting to be explored: Cox Bay, Chesterman Beach, MacKenzie Beach, and Tonquin are all smooth sand, surf covered beaches.

Surfing is alive all year with constant water temperatures.  Tofino has many surf shops and the culture here is vibrant and friendly.

Hot Springs Cove - A natural thermal pool that is a must see if you have a full day.  The boat ride alone is scenically stunning.

Bird watching - With numerous inter-tidal flats zones, and stunning beaches, the Tofino area has been considered one of the finest bird watching locations in Canada .

Golfing - Long Beach Golf Course , located within the Pacific Rim National Park offers 9 holes, and is good for beginners.
